Casey Anthony Case Sparks Outrage Amoung Online Bingo Players

The recent Casey Anthony trial that was held in Orlando Florida from May 9 to July 5, 2011 generated worldwide interest. The dramatic trial was the subject of many heated conversations on bingo forums and chat rooms at online bingo sites. Basically Casey Anthony was charges with murdering her two year old daughter Caylee Anthony. Although Anthony maintains her innocence it would appear that most of the participants in bingo forum conversations believe that Anthony is guilty. When Anthony was acquitted there was an outpouring of outrage around the world.

According to Casey’s father George Anthony Casey disappeared for a little over a month in June of 2008. Casey’s mother repeatedly tried to see Caylee but Casey said she was ‘too busy’ with a work related project. She then told her relatives that Caylee was being taken care of by a nanny named Zenaida “Zanny” Fernandez-Gonzalez. It was later found out that although Zenaida “Zanny” Fernandez-Gonzalez actually did exist she had no knowledge of Caylee and had never met her. George Anthony received a certified letter from a local towing company and when he went to retrieve the car he noticed a peculiar odor coming from the trunk of the car. He later testified that the trunk smelled like a decomposing body. On December 11th 2008 human remains were found in a plastic bag. On December 19th medical examiner Jan Garavaglia confirmed that the remains were those of Caylee Anthony.

Casey was indicted on first degree murder charges aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and four counts of providing false information to law enforcement. Judge John Jordan ordered Anthony held without bail. Later prosecutors announced they would seek the death penalty. The evidence was overwhelming but was also circumstantial. Jurors were brought from Pinellas to Orlando because of all of the pre trial publicity. After closing arguments jurors faced a daunting task. The jury began deliberations on July 4th 2011. On July 5th the jury announced a not guilty verdict for the murder charges. The jury found Anthony guilty of on four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to law enforcement officers.  In a comment that is typical of the views of most internet bingo players one forum member stated “This just makes me sick! I couldn’t believe when I was watching television as the verdict was being read and they said not guilty. With all of the evidence they had, how could they have come to this conclusion? Justice was not served.”

The Casey Anthony case is likely to be a hot topic for online bingo players well into the future.
